How much experience do I need?
Our trips are designed for all experience levels, from novice to expert. For most people who have little or no prior kayaking experience, paddling comes naturally after a lesson and short practice on the water.

How is a sea kayak different from a whitewater kayak?
Sea kayaks are much larger, far more stable and comfortable to paddle. Steering is simplified with foot-controlled rudder systems.

What physical condition is required?
You do not have to be an athlete, just reasonably energetic.Anyone with average upper body strength can paddle comfortably since our tours are conducted at a relaxing pace, usually with a stop on an island.

How should I dress for kayaking?
Shorts on warm days, bluejeans are not recommended. Sandals are recommended.

Will I get wet?
You will get your feet wet getting in and out of the kayak and you may get splashed by your paddle a little. You should not get soaked, however.

How likely is a capsize?
Very unlikely. All kayaks are equipped with positive flotation,so even full of water they will float.

Should I bring a camera?
Yes, if you feel comfortable with it around water. We can provideyou with a dry bag to store it in when you are not using it.

Suggested items for you to bring:
Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Sneakers or sandals you do not mind getting wet. Windbreaker, sweatshirt, or jacket. Water, juice, or snack food.
